What the data contains
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) publishes its alerts, recalls and safety information for medicines and medical devices on GOV.UK: class 1 to 4 medicines recalls and defect notifications (naming the company and product), device safety information, National Patient Safety Alerts, weekly lists of manufacturers' field safety notices and monthly safety roundups. GOV.UK provides the collection as an Atom feed of the 50 most recently published or updated documents. This source reads the feed hourly and makes one record per document, keyed by its feed identifier, with the title, link, last-updated time and GOV.UK's short summary. A monitor reports each new alert and each update to an existing one. Linked pages and attachments are not fetched. Titles and summaries name products and companies, not patients. An entry leaving the 50-document window is not a withdrawal. SourceFinch is independent of the MHRA.
Fields and types
Every record has these fields. The key field id identifies a record across runs, so changes are reported field by field.
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
idkey | string | GOV.UK feed entry identifier (a tag: URI naming the document's path), stable across revisions. The record key. |
title | string | Title of the alert, recall or safety notice as published on GOV.UK. |
url | url | Link to the document on GOV.UK; the linked page and its attachments are not fetched. |
updated_at | datetime | Time GOV.UK last published a change to the document, with its UTC offset; not the date of the underlying event. |
summary | string, nullable | Short summary from the feed, when GOV.UK provides one; linked document bodies are not collected. |
Sample output
The first 5 of 50 records from SourceFinch's own run on October 12, 2026, exactly as delivered.

]Evidence behind every value
- Each run keeps the publisher's exact response, hashed with SHA-256. This sample came from a response with hash
b4895c0dcb809a40c6516314f06cb5bd0dfc2fb97d29dbd8d252f7fd1ade7cb1. - Every value records where it came from in that response: a CSS path into the retained capture.
- Each run gets a signed manifest (Ed25519) timestamped by an RFC 3161 authority: this run's manifest hash is
69dcf00f0c31bc10e40b558f0a308c13ea6d1b621aa967ed3e61db37a9270655, timestamped October 12, 2026. - The compliance state at capture is recorded with the evidence: robots.txt hash and verdict, AI-preference signals, crawler identity and the usage rights below.
- Download any run as an evidence bundle (WACZ) and check it offline, without trusting SourceFinch:
sourcefinch verify-bundle run.wacz.

GOV.UK's terms state that its content, including feeds made available for other websites and applications, is published under the Open Government Licence v3.0 unless otherwise stated, which permits copying, publishing, adapting and commercial use with attribution. Personal data and third-party rights are outside that licence; this source reads only feed metadata (identifiers, titles, links, revision times and summaries) for Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency documents and never fetches linked pages. www.gov.uk/robots.txt allows the feed path.

Usage rights travel with every record SourceFinch delivers (API, exports, webhooks and evidence bundles). They are our documented understanding of the publisher's stated terms, not legal advice.

Measured on completed runs of this recipe version across SourceFinch, anonymized, within a rolling 30-day window. First successful observation: October 12, 2026. A new recipe has only the history collected since that date; this is not a 30-day uptime guarantee.
Use it
Every surface creates the same monitor from this Verified recipe. Monitors keep record history, report field-level changes and deliver by webhook, export or email. You confirm you have the right to collect the source (rights: true).
Console
Open this recipe in the console: it preserves the reviewed URL, fields and record key. Review the latest captured sample, confirm source rights, and choose a schedule before creating your monitor.
Portable recipe
Copy into the console's Import or share a recipe panel to customize fields, types and schedules. This configuration contains no captured records or workspace IDs.
